Similarly, typing in “grunge” brings up some stunning, highly unique textures in a range of styles. Searches such as “paper”, “overlays” and “experimental” also give some absolutely fantastic results.
But the best part about the images on Unsplash is that they are all 100% royalty free. This means you can use any of the textures in any commercial work with absolutely no restrictions!

At this point, TextureLabs is an OG in the texture pack game.
This mindblowing resources boasts a completely free library of high resolution textures and overlays (as well as some other cool design tools as well).
The most impressive thing about the TextureLabs library is the sheer amount of variation it offers.
You can find everything from dusty particles and lens flare effects, all the way to organic elements such as wood, sky and stone.
My personal favorite category is the halftone textures, which offers an incredible selection of authentic, detailed halftone overlays.

Pexels is another example of a free image library containing millions of royalty free images, videos and other design assets.
And just like Unsplash, Pexels also includes thousands of free textures in a range of styles and themes.
Searching things like “grunge texture”, “paint texture” and “experimental texture” on Pexels gives you some absolutely stunning texture images.
On top of that, the textures on Pexels are extremely vibrant and detailed, due to the fact that most of them are real, high-resolution photographs of physical surfaces and objects.
In my opinion, the textures you can find on Unsplash are usually a lot easier to find amongst the rest of the image library, but nonetheless both Pexels and Unsplash are goldmines for discovering beautiful, high-quality textures.

Free Textures: ResourceBoy
ResourceBoy is a bit of a hidden gem when it comes to finding free textures as a graphic designer.
The textures on ResourceBoy is definitely more unique and specific than most texture sites (which definitely isn’t a bad thing).
For example, you can find texture packs such as spider web textures, marble textures, firework textures and coffee stain textures.
Plus, the volume of free texture packs on ResourceBoy is seriously impressive, as there are thousands of texture files in total on the site.
Some of the textures won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s definitely worth a browse if you’re looking for unique, free textures for graphic design.
